Descendants of the Garland family of Johnston/Dobbs/Wayne Counties, North Carolina in the 1700's are trying to connect with the Garland family from the Isle of Wight County VA in the 1600's through Y-DNA evaluations. Needed is any living male descendant of Peter Garland (~1624 - ~1690) of Isle of Wight County VA with the Garland surname to participate in a DNA study. Also of interest are documented male descendents of his sons Samuel and John Garland. A free Y-DNA test is offered to this male if he can submit persuasive documentation of his descent from Peter Garland.
