Does anyone have any information reguarding Christopher Holmes who lived in the IOW, Va. in the 1600s. There is a deed book record refering to him as selling 70 acres to a Nicolas Casey and stating that he had a wife, Mary, from LP. Where is LP? Also, there are records refering to a child with the same name whose father by the same name died and the godfather wanted to remove the boy from a "papist" who was the boy's guardian about 1690. Finally, there was a Christopher Holmes who was born in 1750 in Orange, VA. and I can't find any info for him in Va., although, I know he moved to Horry, SC and married a Martha Mansfield (b.1752 Orange, Va.) there and they had a son named James who married a Singleton and had many children in Horry.
