I have a Dudley A. WHITAKER, b. 1794 in my line from Isle of Wight, married to Sarah H.(CARTER?). He had 4 children that I know of: Elizabeth Rix (my gggrandmother), Joseph b.1829, Martha A. b.1833, and Claiborne b.1835. Trying to find his parents. He went to IOW from North Carolina, then went to Sumter Co., AL where he died between 1860 and 1870. Also, I see that there were ATKINSON'S in IOW as well. Has anyone seen anything on a Hugh ATKINSON? Thanks.
