Have info on John Urquhart my ancestor, but don't think he built Strawberry Plains.
I just learned that his son Richard Alexander Urquhart bought the property from the Hankins family around 1844 when they moved to Bacon's Castle. Previously owned by the Boykin family. Richard may have added to the house as he had a very large family. John was dead before the property came into the Urquhart family. I saw a small charming but primitive painting of Strawberry Plains many years ago.
I do not know where it is now. Would love to have a copy as would several of my cousins.
