Posted by Ralph Sayre Bryant Fannin (or Bryan Fanning, or other variation) presumably lived below Deep Creek and owned 280-acres at the head of Burchen Swamp. I haven’t been able to place this “Deep Creek” and “Burchen Swamp” on a map. He was allegedly married about 1725 to his wife, Elizabeth. Her maiden name is presumed “Middleton.” Estimated dates for Elizabeth are: b. about 1714 and died about 1772. Bryan Fannin was born probably about 1698 and died in 1765. Some of the offspring settled in Wythe County, VA and some in North Carolina. Children of Bryant and Elizabeth Fannin were: David (b. 1725-after 1765.) It has been written but not proven that this Bryan Fannin’s parents were Laughlin and Elizabeth ( ) Fannin. If anyone reading this has a reliable source for parents of this Bryan Fannin, I’d like to know.

Amelia county (Virginia) was formed 1734 from Brunswick and Prince George counties. Brunswick was formed 1720 from Isle of Wight and Prince George. Isle of Wight was formed in 1634. Estimates of this Bryant Fanning’s birth date range from 1698 to 1704. I would like any Fannin, Fannon, Fanning information in Isle of Wight county records. Sketchy information that I have compiled follows.
