In searching for the descendants of James Godwin and Sarah Kinchin, I found the will of William Kinchin and his son Mathew Kinchin, who is the brother of Sarah. In Will Book 4, page 72 & 113, the will of William Kinchin in 1735 and Mathew in 1736.
Also I found W. Kinchin as a witness for property in Nottoway Parish, which is in Southhampton Co.
I also found the name James Kinchin in this area.
I'm looking for a family named Godwin who went to N.C. I have run across the Kinchin name in Northampton and Edgecomb Co. NC.
