I am seeking the line of Archer (Archie) Kidd, born 1824. Served in Co A, 9th VA Infantry, CSA. In 1870 he lived in Belfield Township with wife Mary A (nee Williams), sons Jamie H. aged 5, Richard E. aged 3, and William H. aged under 1 year (my grandfather). William Haley (Hailey) Kidd married Rebecca High and they continued to live and have a large family in Belfield Twp, Greensville Co., where one of his son's birth certificate is filed. It states he (William Haley Kidd) was born in Greensville Co. in 1867. He died in 1918 in Warrenton, NC. His death certificate information supplied by John Kidd of Jarrats, VA. (north of Emporia), maybe a brother. Any connection to the artisan Joseph Kidd of early Williamsburg, whose son Joseph Kidd, Jr settled in Hix Ford (Hicksford) and had a large family?
