I'm also a Newsom descendant & am hoping some one might have Martha Newsom who married Green Adams 2-23-1808 Greensville in their lines. I believe, but haven't proved, that Martha was a descendant of the Nathaniel Newsom & Susanna Moore family. A Martha Adams, aged 83 yrs. was residing in the household of Rev. Thomas Moore Newsom in the 1850 Southampton Co. Census. Green Adams was also a minister who moved from Greensville over to Southampton Co. Rev. Thomas Newsom was the brother of my ggrandmother Eliza Jane Newsom who m. Thomas R. Mason (of Greensville), Dec. 22, 1840 Sussex Co. If anyone is researching the Newsom family of Greensville, I would love to visit with you.
