Posted by Cheryl Oliver I really don't know much about where Howell ROWELL came from, other than he was born in Virginia according to his grave marker. I believe Elizabeth WALTON's father was Issac Rowe WALTON (b. 1765) and her mother was Elizabeth ALLEN ( b. abt. 1767), both lived in Greensville County, VA. Do you think there may be any connection? I am searching for information on Howell ROWELL (b. 1798) who, on 3-8-1820, married Elizabeth L. Walton (b. 1799). They were from the Greensville County, VA area that was formed from Brunswick County, VA. They moved to Alabama in the early 1820's shortly after the birth of their first son, Albert Henry ROWELL. They are both buried in Roxana Cemetery in Lee County, AL (which was originally located in Tallapoosa County, AL when Lee County, AL was formed).
