Posted by Mike Lee He served in Co. A, 41st Va. Infantry and was severely wounded at 2nd Manassas, August 30, 1862. He applied for and received a pension under the Act of 1888 at which time he stated that he was wounded in the left thigh and suffered substantial shortening of his leg. He is reported by another researcher to have died in Greensville in October 1903. I don't know the primary source for this information. Was there a newspaper published in Emporia in 1903 and if so, does anyone know if obituaries from that time period are available for lookup at a local library, etc ? Also, does anyone know if a local funeral home, cemetery, or any other agency in Greensville Co. might have records from that time period ? Mike Lee
