Posted by Terri Anne Hastings There are several generations of Henry Mitchells, apparently. Mr. Henry Mitchell is my direct long granddaddy. His ancestor, Henry Mitchell was married to the Branch family. Henry Mitchell (RS)-American Revolutionary War Original records for Henry Mitchell of the American Revolutionary War is what I am interested in. Henry was born in Surrey County, Virginia, (later realigned to form Sussex County, Virginia). Henry Mitchell was born about 1745. He served in the American Revolutionary War. His family later moved to Georgia. Henry was married to Sarah Madieras, possibly of Virginia. Henry and Sarah's son, Robert Maderias James Mitchell ("Ricey" Mitchell) was my antecedent. Virginia to Georgia - Post American Revolutionary War: The Georgia Dept. of Archives and History has a record for Henry Mitchell (RS) for bounty land. Georgia intermittently held Land Lotteries for those who served in the American Revolutionary War, beginning in 1805. Henry Mitchell won land in the Land Lottery of 1827. I would very much like to find any marriage information, probate records, etc., for the Mitchell Branchs. Mitchell-Jones Records I am also interested in the Surry County, Virginia, Mitchell-Jones records for Henry Mitchell and Priscella Jones. I am a direct descendent of the Mitchell-Jones. Do you need any information from Georgia? Average e-mail is o.k. Thank you.

Are the Mitchells of Jones County, Georgia, intermarried to the Tabitha Branch family of the Sussex County, Virginia, Branch family?
