My ancestor, Olive Dalton was supposed to have been born circa 1798 in Greenville Co., Va.Todate I have not been able to ascertain the presence of any Daltons in that area at his birth time.
He was 24 in 1813 when he enlisted in Edenton, NC:
Reg/US Army page 222 2830
Olive Dalton or Dolton Col. P. Jack's Regiment 5'6" Hazel eyes light hair, fair complexion, age 24, farmer, born Greenville District, Virginia
Enlisted 28 May 1813 with Lt. Marye for a tour ending 27 May 1818. Remarks: DR Feb 16 MR Feb 28, IR April 30, DR Lt. J. H. Mallory's Co. US Infy Nov 30 IR Capt RH Bell's Co. Dec 13/1815, Feby 29, June 30 & IR Capt J. R. Corbaley's Co. Aug 31, Oct 31, Dec 31/1816, Feb 28, Apr 30, June 30 & Sept 1 1817. Present-Pro Corp'l June 1/1816 IR Feby 25 1818. On command. Discharged at Fort Scott. May 27, 1818, term expired. See pension case 8 (7) Infy was made 7 US Infy after May 17, 1815
