Thank you so much for that information, Cheryl. I will pass that on to others who are connected to the family you mention.
The Charles Webb you mention was Charles Henry Webb, the son of Warren Webb and Cydney Jane Walton. The Henry in his name probably came from Henry Ledbetter, a Walton connection. The Charles came from the father of Micajah Webb, who was the father of Warren. That Charles Webb died in Southampton County, VA, in 1758.
Micajah Webb also had a brother named Charles in Sussex Co., VA. He had daughters, but no sons.
There are scant records on John and Lucy Webb. John was the brother of Micajah. I believe his wife was Lucy Hardyman Dunn, the daughter of John and Lucy Dunn. John Webb's daughter was Temperance Cato. John named a son Micajah Webb, Jr. Micajah named a son John Webb, Jr. John had a son named Charles that was born about 1766 or 67. He married Delilah Ezell, daughter of William Ezell and Susannah Seat. Charles Webb worked as an overseer for Ezell. Charles and Delilah had two sons born there in Virginia. They were Edmund Webb and William Webb. The Webbs and Ezells migrated to Union District, SC, by the 1800 census. By that time, Charles had been widowed and had remarried Catherine Stribling, the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Ann Kincheloe Stribling. Their son Micajah is my ancestor.
By 1810, Charles Webb had been widowed again and was living on Deep Creek and the Seneca River in the Pendleton District of SC. He married last to Mary Ann Baldwin, the widow of Rev. Henry Terry.
This part of the Pendleton District became Anderson County. Charles Webb died there in 1832 at the age of 64.
The Webbs you mention migrated just as you have stated. There is some evidence that they came through Pendleton and visited the Webb kin there.
Eventually, the Webbs you mention, migrated on to Jefferson Co., TX. (Close to Shreveport, LA, and Texarkana, TX.)
From there, some of them went up into the hills of Arkansas near Harrison and Jasper in Newton County.
Some of my e-mail connections are connected to the Rowells you mention and they also know about that cemetery.
Thanks for adding to our information.
My e mail address is bobbylamb@prodigy.net. I look forward to seeing those pictues. I have pictures of the Webb graves at Jasper, Arkansas.
