Seeking additional research information on this individual ... I believe him to be from Greensville county, VA, but possibly from one of the surronding counties ... William was born about 1840, entered the U.S. Military Academy (West Point) in 1857 and was to graduate in the class of 1861. However, he resigned in April of 1861 to return to VA. He served in the 21st VA Militia, 34th VA Infantry and 4th VA Heavy Artillery. I have no other military service information beyond July of 1862, only that his rank was 1st Lt. Sometime after the war I am fairly certain he became a minister...If anyone can help me with any additional information, it will be greatly appreciated!
