My John McGuire was an indentured servant to a Joseph Jackson around 1740 in Goochland County. John marred Rebecca Carter daughter of Thomas Carter about 1755. Thomas granted John and Rebecca 100 acres on June 27, 1757 in Cumberland County, Virginia. Do you know anything about Thomas Carter?
