In Goochland County Virginia will of John Pollock dated 1 Jan 1749, probated 18 Feb 1755, there are three sons named about whom we wish to learn more. They
are: 1) David, 2) William, and 3) Jacob. A filmed copy of the will reveals that John Pollock's wife was called Hannah (other records suggest her maiden name
is Johannah Powell, a daughtder of Roger Powell of Goochland. The will further reveals that at least six children of John and Hannah survived until the will date, and that all of them were apparently under 21 years age. We have found only one record in Goochland concerning the three subject sonsl. That record is found in a St James Northam Parish vestry book entry on Page 75, dated in 1755, in which entry it appears that lands of David Pollock and Drewry Christian are being reviewed by appointed Processioners Thomas Pleasants and Abram Perkins.
Our Pollock line files include males with the names of David in New Hanover County NC in 1771-1780; William in tax lists in Bertie County NC in 1774; and Jacob in tax lists in 1774 and other court & military records of Bertie County. We have not been able to discover the parentage of these three NC Pollock males; and because their names are tdhe same as those sons of John Pollock of Goochland, we can't overlook the possibility that these Pollocks in NC records are the sons of John and Hannah Pollock of Goochland Co VA. We need help, and we will happily share and exchange info with other Pollock researchers.
Thanks, Thomas Pollock
