I think Wm and Major married sisters who are shown as Mathison on most genealogy boards but I believe the correct name to be Maddison as there were Maddisons in the same area but no Mathisons. If you follow the Rootsweb to Wm Powers and Judith Mathison (Mattison) you will find they had about a dozen children including my ancestor Julius Powers.
