India, Don't know if this is any help, but in my Cumberland County research, I found record of the list of court-appointed road surveyors. In a particular section in which was mentioned my own ancestor, was also, the name Edward Stratton. THE DATE WAS 1795. It piqued my interest about Mr. Stratton particularly, because my best friend's mother's family were Strattons from the Sabot area of Goochland. If you would like me to question my friend further, please email me privately. I'm not sure just how much she knows, but I'm sure she might be interested. Judy
