I have this info..."David Ellis appears to have been the first of the name to emigrate to the colony, coming in the second supply from England....A recent sketch of the family in the Richmond Times-Dispatch states that John Ellis of Tuckahoe was the son of David. Col. Ellis [Thomas Harding Ellis - Memorandum dated 1849], however, does not make this claim, but begins his register with John Ellis..."
