I am particularly interested in the Jno. Burton, as I have reached a dead end in the search for my ancestors in VA. I have gone as far back as a Jaratt Burton who married a Jane Porter in Bourbon County KY in the year it was formed from VA. Any help you could give would certainly be appreciated.

I saw in a reference on the web that 322 acres were transferred in New Kent Co in 1665, either to or from a Robert Jaratt and either to/from Francis Hough, "in whom it was due for transportation of 6 persons". It further lists 7 persons that were transported: Jno Thomas, William Hulman, Jno Burton, Henry Ford, William Browne, Robert Bartlett, and Robert Wagg. This Robert Jarrat was a respected citizen of Bath Parish in Dinwiddie Co VA, and I wonder if there might be some record of the Jno Burton there also.
