My paternal Great-great-grandmother, Mary Edith Coleman walked from Louisa, VA with her 9 yr. old son, John Wesley Warren Sr. , my great-grandfather, to Franklin, Cnty, KY approx. 1878 and settled there. In researching the "Coleman" name I have discovered that John Hardaway owned slaves in Dinwiddie Cnty, Nancy Coleman, "a dark brown, well made mulato woman, Daniel Coleman, a dark free Negro, or Indian, and Betty Coleman, a dark negro woman as a decesendant of an Indian were liberated and given free papers between 1794 and 1805. I am curious to know and in hopes of someone confirming that Mary Edith Coleman and these other Colemans are related and share any "info" regarding the above. Also if anyone is privy to the history of the Hardaway family that held this family in servitude and is receptive to also sharing "info!" This may shed light and further give some incite into my familial origin and further study of the "Lost Tribe!"
Thank you kindly,
