My ancestor Richard Moody inherited land and owned land on Gravelly Run in Dinwiddie County. I am descended from his only son, J.D. Moody who moved back to Dinwiddie from Tennessee and entered the Confederate army in an unit from Darvills. Richard was born around 1801. From the land records, I'm assuming that Charles T and Joseph( whose wife was Elizabeth )were his brothers. They inherited land together. I don't know if Joseph's sons stayed in Dinwiddie or lived to adulthood. I don't have any guesses on who Richard, Charles T., and Joseph's parents were or who else (cousins, uncles, other brothers) are related. I'm hoping the 1860 and later censuses could tell me about Joseph's sons. Maybe the 1840 and earlier censuses would give me more info into making guesses about Richard's parents. Do you have any living Moody male relatives? I am considering having a Y chromosome test.
I don't have the answer to your question but our ancestors lived in the same area from the 1840-1860's at least.
