The Albemarle Parish register is the only surviving complete Parish register from Virginia Colonial times. There is a book by John Bennett Boddie which contains abstracted lists of Births, Deaths, and Sponsors (God-parents) from the register. The original printing was in 1958, there have been several reprints. The most recent which I know of was in 1998 and has an index, which is helpful. There are several other books out there which abstract pieces of the register. Boddie's is generally considered the most complete, but it's also known to contain several errors in transcription.
Albemarle Parish originally consisted of Surry County, eventually the territory was split and part of it became Sussex County.
If you live in Virginia, there are various books based on the register at most local libraries, and of course The Library of Virginia has Boddie and I'm sure several others.
If you live outside Virginia, there are used copies of Boddie on Amazon, but be prepared to pay around $100.
