Seeking any information at all on the Hobbs, Keckley,
Burwell, Garland, Day, Stewart and Grum families who lived in Dinwiddie County. I am particularly interested in the families who were connected to the slave family of Agnes (Burwell) Hobbs and George Pleasant Hobbs and their daughter,Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley, who married a slave from Dinwiddie County named James Keckley. George Pleasant Hobbs moved with his master to Tennessee about 1825. The Garland family (Hugh A. and Anne Burwell Garland)moved with Agnes and Elizabeth Hobbs to St. Louis about 1847. James Keckley soon followed. Any information would be gratefully received and acknowledged.
