Posted by brenda Sarah Harrison and John George Corman were my 5 great grandparents. They came to Canada and settled in Stoney Creek with their son Isaac. Isaac married Keziah Green, the daughter of the first settler there, Adam Green. Isaac and Keziah had a fairly large family and their children have spread out over Canada and US. Sarah's father was Benjamin Harrison and she was the aunt of President William Henry Harrison. There is a write-up on the internet regarding the Battle of Stoney Creek during the War of 1812 that verifies this family connection. Sarah was born in Berkeley. John George Corman was a child who was kidnapped from a wealthy family and sold as a slave. He won the admiration of Benjamin Harrison so he allowed him to marry his daughter, or so the story goes.
