Are the originals of the deed books which are extant (after 1865?)still at the Pr Geo courthouse? It is so much easier to read from them than from microfilm that it would be worth the trip. Unfortunately once the originals are sent to the state libray, one is pretty much out of luck. They expect you to use microfilm and it is so scratched one can't read it. I want to come to Pr George County anyway to look at Bailey's Creek. Maybe the land tax office can provide me with a map of the area near the mouth of the creek which will give the names of the current owners. I was able to get that type of information in Henrico County.
