George County, Virginia Records 1733-1792 or Pr. George County Virginia Miscellany 1711-1814, by same author. One of them might disclose another transfer of this land. The only other method is to check all deeds of Prince George County from the time they are extant looking for a description that matches the above 142-acre tract. One could also check to see who currently owns the land south of Bailey’s Creek starting at the mouth and listing all owners for perhaps a mile west of the mouth and try tracing each backwards. I doubt there would be more than 3 or 4 – if it is still farmland. If it is city lots, God help us! Netti

Here are the proofs of the descent of the tract I am interested in from the original grant to your ancestor William Stainback:
I hope I have not given you material you don’t even want. I guess you know that I am hoping you will try to trace the land—you live closer!!!
