Posted by Netti Schreiner-Yantis I am researching William Bayly/Bailey who was an Ancient Planter (having arrived before 1616) and was awarded two pieces of land – 100 acres in West & Shirley Hundred and 50 acres in what was in 1625 called “The Great Wyandote.” The grant in Great Wyandote was on Bailey Creek in what is now Prince George County. After William died, sometime before 1635, his eldest son Thomas Bayly added 100 acres to the 50 acres his father owned and patented it. PB v 1, pt 1, p. 215. Cav. & Pion. v1, p. 26. 1635 - Patent of 150 acres granted Thomas Bailie of Chas City Co near mouth of creek called Baylye Cr on S side said creek. Beg at small swamp with little brooke running the middst of it and extending south into the woods. Fifty acres of said 150 acres being due him as heir to HIS FATHER WILLIAM BAILIE'S WHO DYED possessed thereof and 100 acres for transportation of two persons into this Colony: Mary Welsh and Mary ______. Wit: Tho: Holford . John West, JAMES WARRADINE. Signed by mark of Mary West.. I have traced this specific 150-acre tract to William Stainback in 1722. I won’t give all the proofs since you may already have them, but can, and will be happy to provide them if you don’t. The reason I am answering your query is that I would like to know EXACTLY where this tract is. I hope you have already ferreted out the above and have been able to learn more about the location and the descent after the Stainback’s disposed of it. Can you help?? 107 Latigo Ct Stephens City, VA 22655

I am not related to the Stainback family and what I know you may already have.
