I believe that Sarah, wife of Jonathan Quivers, was a slave owned by the Harrison family at Berkeley Plantation and that she is the slave listed as "yellow Sarah" in the inventory of slaves belonging to the Signer, Benjamin Harrison V. Some confusion on this point derives from the fact that an obituary for Emanuel Quivers identifies his birthplace as Brandon at Harrison's Landing. I believe that Jonathan appears on the same list, identified as a blacksmith. I also believe that both Jonathan and Sarah appear on the records of Charles City Baptist Church as slaves belinging to Berkeley Plantation. Records of a Westover Church rector mention the burial of "Mammy Sarah" at Berkeley in May of 1845. I suspect that this might be Sarah Quivers. I hope this information is helpful to you.
