Refeences state a Rev. John Banister imported 35 persons in the year 1690. One of them was Wm. Stainback/Standback, the immigrant that is believed to be the ancestor and start of my family. Now in the early 1700's, Wm Stainback owned land (200 acres) in Prince George County, Virginia. Wm had 224 acres surveyed in 1713 on the Jones' Hole Swamp area. This tells me William had to pay his debt off quickly to the Rev., heard 30,000 pounds of tobacco. Was wondering if someone could help with some reference to this. Also interested in the question to an Onah Tidmarsh. She is the possible wife to Wm, based on a "Will" from Richard Tidmarsh naming William a "loven cozen". Any help there is appreciated.
