I am following the line of James Parish/Parrish of Brunswick Co VA. I am posting here because I think he is related to your line of Parrish.
Assume birth of 1710 or earlier, based on his receiving a land patent in 1731.
He sold this land patent to John Parrish Sr of Charles City Co in 1738, I suppose because he was settled down in Brunswick Co near to the NC border.
================
p. 412 James PARRISH of Brunswick Co. Va. to John Parrish Senr. of County of
Charles City
said James Parrish by letters bearing date at Williamsburgh the 28th day of
August 1731...559 acres... deed for land with livery
Nov. 5, 1738
witnessed by Drury SMITH (***me:this might be Drury Stith )
================
(in 1738 and again in 1741, Charles Parrish is referred to in the Brunswick Road orders. He may be a son of John Parrish Sr . I'm having a hard time rationalizing that Charles was a son of James Parrish and Sarah Glover)
=================
James Parish was a sheriff of Brunswick Co.:
We James Parish, Nicholas Edmunds, and Thomas Person of
Brunswick County, Gent. are held and firmly bound in £1000
sterling to the which Paiment well and truly to be made we bind
oruselves dated this 24 September 1751. Condition whereas James
Parish is appointed Sheriff of the County of Brusnwick, if he
shall render to the Auditor and Receiver General of his Majestys
Revenue a partiular Perfect and true account of all his majestys
rents and dues etc. obligation to be void. Signed James Parish,
Nicholas Edmunds, Thos. Person. Wit: Litt. Tazewell Cl. Court
24 September 1751, Bond acknoweldged by James Parish, Nicholas
Edmunds, and Thomas Person. Deed Book 5, Page 128.
====================
William Glover of Northampton Co NC named his daughter "Sarah Parish" in his will of 1754.
=====================
James Parrish, (*Gentleman and former sheriff), was apparently dead by the same year of 1754, when Mrs. Sarah (Glover) Parish married John Powell in Brunswick Co VA on Dec 24th.(see marriages at Ancestry.com)
========================
A Vestry Book entry in Brunswick Co VA mentions that John Parrish had been named an executor:
At a Vestry held for Saint Andrews Parish the 5th Day of September 1755
Present: Drury Stith John Martin }
Nicholas Edmunds Edward Goodrich } Gent
Sampson Lanier Robert Briggs & }
John Clack Henry Edmunds }
Ordered that Maj'r Nicholas Edmunds and John Parrish Executors &c of
James Parrish deceased pay Colo John Wall Church Warden of Maherrin
Parrish out of the money due from the Estate to the Parish thirty
pounds and three farthings in full of their proportion of the Estate.
==========================
It is my feeling that John Parrish (the executor) was the son of James Parrish and his wife Sarah Glover, but without the will I can't really tell for sure.
This John Parish was still in Brunswick Co VA in 1758/1759 when he was mentioned as being a Lt in the county militia. Also in this militia unit was Frederick Glover, a known grandson of William Glover and Mary Norwood of Beaverpond Creek Northampton Co NC.
