Yes, Robert Bolling was a surveyor - big time! Lists of his surveys can be found on the Family History Library Film # 0022053: Prince George Co., Virginia Mixed Records 1724-1728. He is not my ancestor, but in looking at this film I noted that he was an active participant in county affairs at the time and seemed to own a lot of land.
