John, I"m interested in your William Parrish and especialy in documentation for his birth, death and parents. There are several William Parrishs in Charles City County. A William Parrish and a James Parrish were founding trustees of Charles City Chapel the first methodist meeting house deed land in the county (1791). Meetings at the home of a "brother Parrish" are mentioned in the diaries of itinerant ministers William Spencer and James Meacham. A sgt. William Parrish who was born in Charles City County served in the 6th Va. Regiment on the Continental Line in the Rev. War. At the time of enlistment he was described as 24, 5'9"tall, a planter with black hair andvhazel eyes and a fair complexion. He died before 19 SEP 1833 when court certified that his heir and only daughter was Elizabeth Parrish. A William Parrish owned property in the vicinty of the Glebe and presumably gave the name to Parrish Hill Creek. I hope this information is helpful to you.
