MY Revolutionary War ancestor was from Charles City, VA. His name was William West- born we think on Nov. 27,-(records indicate 1762 was the year)and he lived in Charles City, although he enlisted from Chesterfield County. Years ago a professional genealogist identified his mother as Mary, although something like the name Letitia Martin has also come up. I understand that most of the Charles City records are gone. He married on Jan. 22, 1790 in Virginia. His wife's name - (DAR,s call her Alice Lawrence Egmon, but the Family Bible says Alice Egmond Lawrence.)His father was also named William West and he died in 1771 or 1812. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We think his grandfather was Col. Francis West.
