I am a descendant of Joseph Carter who we know
was in Buckingham County Jan. 1, 1787, because
on that date he sold his land in Franklin Cy., VA
He was married to Nancy Menefee. In ca. 1790 they
went to TN. 1st Sullivan County then Knox Cy.We cannot determine who his fathber was. We even
think he may have came from PA to VA.
