Do you know if the Moores and the Bennings intermarried? There were a couple of Benning men in Buckingham (per tithe/tax lists in the 1700s), and a Charles Davidson in Buckingham in the 1700s had a son named John Benning Davidson. As such, I suspect that Charles Davidson had married a Benning women. I will see if I have anything in my files on the Moores, and I will post again if I do. These Bennings (unless there was more than one basic family of them in VA) were French (original spelling was somewhat different). They intermarried with the Cobb/Cobbs family, and Fort Benning in Georgia is named after one of them from that branch (a Thomas Cobb(s) took his family from VA to GA).
