My GGG Grandmother was Anna CARTER-RAGAN. She was the d/o Joseph CARTER & Magdalene Sallee CHASTAIN.
I am looking to substanciate or debunk stories of a link between the Ann Carter-Lee family and my GGGGrandmothers.
In a news story printed in the 30s, it was stated she was the neice of Ann Carter (Robert E. Lee's mother) and had been named after her as Anna Carter.
I've not been able to make a postitive link and confirm this story. If you have any information about this, it would be most appreciated. Thanks.
