My many greats grand parents were married 16 Oct 1795 in Buckingham by Rev. William Flowers.
They were:
William Toney b. abt 1779 and Mary Watkins b. abt 1787? (her age changes in every census).
William fought in the War of 1812 and listed his birth place as Amherst. He was wounded and drew a pension. Thank God for the records the war department keeps. It was easy to track him to Campbell Co. in 1823, then to Carter Co. TN in 1828. I am pretty sure Williams father was Reuben Toney. Still working on that. But what about Mary........
I have not been able to find anything on her, and I have been looking for 45 years! Can anyone give me any clues? I sure would appreciate anything you can tell me.
