Posted by Warren Walker Elvira marries John A. Houseman, born 1830-31 "at sea on 1860 census in Richmond". Shows up in Letchers Artillery from Richmond during Civil War. Comes to Buckingham between 1865 and 1877 where he marries a 40 year old "old maid" and has two children immediately. Then both he and she disappear. I have checked the Buckingham Cemetery Books. I cannot find where Glover Banton is buried. Some of his children are scattered about the county in different cemeteries. Does anyone have an idea of where I can find additional information on these "ghosts"? Are there any Bantons left in Buckingham Co. that are into genealogy? All suggestions appreciated. Elvira BANTON, daughter of Glover BANTON, born 1837, not in 1870 census, not in 1860 census but her father and several of her brothers are there.
