My mother wants to stitch a sampler listing all the mothers of mothers that we know in our family and we are stuck.
Alright Drury L. Stith who was born around 1718 to Drury and Elizabeth Buckner Stith. His first marriage was to a women that we only know as Martha. We are related to her through her daughter Elizabeth Stith(who later married Thomas Short).
We know that Martha died before December 1762 because her husband had written a will for him and his new bride to be, Elizabeth Jones Eldridge(widow).
I've been through all of the information I can find on the Brunswick VAGen webpage and cannot find any references to Martha. I was wondering if anyone out there might be able to help us find her elusive maiden name. Thank you very much for your time.
