Posted by Sharron Dawes Thomas C. born c. 1819 in Brunswick Co. Believed to have married c. 1838 to Mariah Jane (Unknown). Marriage document not found yet. These are my GG-Grandparents. They are shown as man & wife in Br. Co, VA 1850 census, but I need proof of Thomas's parentage. Thomas C. is represented in previous censuses by a mark, but I need something that names him as the son of Isaac & Rebecca. I haven't been able to find a will from Isaac, believed to have died c. 1856. Thomas C. and Mariah are in Northampton Co, NC in 1860 census and is believed he died there in 1869. This is the one missing link in my line. I am sure the information is correct, just need some proof. I am hoping someone in Brunswick Co. knows of something like a family Bible or legal document which states the relationship. I would be so very grateful for any help. Sharron Dawes

Seeking documents or other records to confirm that Thomas C. Rainey was the son of Isaac Rainey and Rebecca Lee. Carroll. Isaac and Rebecca can be seen in the 1850 census, but by then, Thomas C. and his wife Mariah Jane had been married since c. 1838.
