When Brunswick county was established in 1720, the Parish of St. Andrew was also set up to contain the county of Brunswick. The vestry book begins July 1732 with records as this was when the official governement was began. In 1754, all south of the Meherrin River became Meherrin Parish In 1781 when Greensville was cut from Brunswick, the parish lines remained the same, until 1897, When the parish of Grammer was created. Sturgeon Run is the creek south of Waqua Creek north of Lawrenceville that runs east and west and runs into the Nottoway River.
