I am researching the Lewis Family in Brunswick Cty. My brick wall is William Lewis who has a will in the Will book at the courthouse dated Feb. 1823. Listing a wife named Martha Lewis. Son named Ruel which is my ancestor. Under the marriage records it only lists her name as Martha (no last name) and no parents for either of them. The records at the courthouse don't go an further back and I really would like to get as far back as I possibly can..even to europe if possible. Do you recall if there are any records of Lewis's that far back in the Parish records..? Thanks for any information. I just want to avoid another trip to Brunswick Cty if I can. Would the Parish allow research on site if I did take a trip there...? Patrick
