My William Lambeth/Lambirth was born 1760-1770. He was "of Virgnia" (according to a grandson's biographical sketch). Two of his sons were (1) David Lambeth b ca 1793 in VA, m April 1818 in Logan Co KY to Sally Huffines, d ca 1838 in Posey Co IN; (2) William Lambeth, Jr.---this may be correct about him---b ca 1798 in VA, m ca 1840 to Nancy __, d after March 1876 in Clark Co MO. William and his two sons are in the 1830 Posey Co IN census. According to the referenced biographical sketch, the elder William "moved to Missouri".
To further identify: David's children were (1) John A., (my ancestor) 1819-1896; (2) James; (3) Henry Harrison (b 1826 m Martha Harper); (4) Jane); (5) David) (6) Daniel (7) Andrew J., b ca 1831. In more "modern times", at least 1889, the spelling was Lambirth. My mother told me that she had been told that the spelling had been changed, but she didn't know from what.
