I Found him in NC Onslow county !830 Federal census.
Am searching for him as well as his parents.John P.
Oliver died 1851 in the above county.The 1860 Onslow
census shows Joshua W Cotman.wife Sarah Oliver.Mary
Oliver age60(John P, Oliver"s wife}Jpshua W. Cotman
came from VA.(died Dec.1869)
I think that John P. Oliver came from VA.and settled
in NC 1830.
