I have no specifics however Great granpa martin C wray had several brothers I know that he and his brother Perry moved to Oxford NC where my grandpa and father are from.
It may be that one of the brothers moved farther down the state.
There are others in the line that moved to NC as well.

also Ross smith has info on his line that moved to ky.
both are from Meherrin ,Brunswick Va.
White plains was the post office back then.
