Posted by Frank Trowbridge Trying to locate an ANDREW WALKER, born abt 1740 in VA, died abt 1830 in Fairfield District, SC. It is suspected that he came to SC from Brunswick Co, VA as one of his sons, DRURY, born 1766 in VA, died 1846 in Fairfield District/County, SC is buried in Aimwell ARP Cemetery in that county. Suspect Drury Walker was named for DRURY STITH, a very prominent landowner, poll tax Collector and Sheriff of Brunswick Co., VA. One of Drury Walker's daughters married a William LANIER whose father was named Sterling Lanier. This family has been positively identified in Brunswick Co, VA records. Therefore, it would be logical that Drury's father, Andrew Walker, probably lived in Brunswick County at one time as well. The only reference that I have been able to locate so far that would verify Andrew's presence in Brunswick Co was found in Deed Book 14, page 407. This deed only mentions ANDREW WALKER'S line on Waqua Creek. This transaction was executed in 1788, over a decade after my Andrew Walker had relocated to the Chester/Fairfield area of South Carolina. Any verifying leads on Andrew Walker's presence in Brunswick County, VA prior to 1772 would be most gratefully received and appreciated. Frank Trowbridge
