Posted by Diane Brenum Jacob R. and his wife, Ann A./Nannie [maiden name unknown], had the following children. Census info has Jacob R. as follows. Joseph and family moved to Richmond - he worked with the railroad. Leigh's youngest granddaughter from his second marriage is still living (age 95 in 2004) and we're trying to find out as much as we can about the Angell family of Amelia County. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I'm happy to share what I know.

I'm trying to connect my GGgrandfather Jacob R. Angel/Angell (~1813-aft 1870)and who I suspect is his father, John D. Angel (1785-aft 1820) m. Mary "Polly" T. Roberts, daughter of Jacob, on 27 Oct 1808 in Amelia County.
John S. Angel (b ~1839)
Joseph Creath Angel (~1841-~1888) m. Lavinia Wingo, daughter of Edward W. Wingo and Elizabeth Ann Scott
Charles G. Angel (b ~1843)
Mary A. Angel (b~1846)
Leigh (aka Lee) Anderson Angel (29 Jul 1848-17 Jan 1910), my Ggrandfather
1840 - Prince Edward
1850 - Amelia County, coachmaker
1860 - Paineville, Amelia County, farmer
1870 - Hatokah, Nottoway, blacksmith; in household of his son, Joseph.
Leigh was a telegrapher. He had his first family with Godena Williams Watters in Wilmington, New Hanover, NC and Richmond, Henrico, VA. After Dena died, he moved to Birmingham, AL and had a second family with Leonora Estelle Searcy.
