Looking for any information on James H.Fowlkes b. 1826-27, m. Jane C.. Osborne b. 1836. Both born in Virginia. Most children were born in Va. between 1862 and 1870. James and Jane d. abt, 1880 in Rockingham County NC. James may have served in the Meherrin Grays in Civil War. Name spelled Foulkes in 1870 census in Guilford County, NC. Family were farmers and some worked for the railroad. Repetitive generation family given names include Christopher, Scales, Bruice, Abner and Edward.
