Hello. About 4 years ago, I bought an ABA-C002A compressor and an ABA Regulator Filter Moisture Trap. I bought a replacement moisture trap about a year ago because the seals in and out of it would no longer become airtight.
I have used the compressor infrequently (maybe a total of 50-75 sessions and <200 hours total over 4 years). Recently, it has begun producing a lot of water after 2-2.5 hours of usage. There isn't a buildup of more than a few drops in the moisture trap, but a lot of water sprays from the airbrush. This has never happened before, and I have previously used the compressor for longer stretches of time (though I think the compressor is "on" for more of the time lately, since I'm getting faster).
Does anyone know what is going on or what I should do? I assume the compressor is overheating. When it happens, I turn it off for 10-20 minutes, then unhook the airbrush and shoot the water directly from the hose onto a paper towel to get it all out (it's maybe one or two milliliters). The last time it happened, I also put some ice in a plastic bag and set it on the compressor, to cool it down. The compressor would do fine after this "maintenance."
Thanks for any help. I am just hoping my compressor isn't going bad, because I don't really want to drop $300+ to replace it ...
